In iOS 7, Twitter takes over social — again

Showing some repeat favoritism, Apple has once again picked Twitter to power the coolest social experiences for its 600 million iOS device owners.During a keynote address at its annual Worldwide Developer Conference, the Cupertino company lifted the veil on iOS 7, its next-generation mobile operating system that reflects a new way of thinking around design. Aside from its altered appearance, the redone OS — coming to consumers’ iPhones and iPads this fall — features a new Control Center, improved multitasking, iTunes Radio, better Camera and Photos apps, and an updated Safari browser.

Battlefield creator shows off new ‘Star Wars’ video game

To the delight of many gamers at E3 on Monday, EA DICE showed off Star Wars Battlefront — a next-generation “Star Wars” video game that uses the Frostbite 3 graphics engine. DICE uses the same graphics engine in Battlefield 4. As the 30-second trailer kicks off, you can clearly see a snowy tundra on the ice planet Hoth, presumably set during the battle seen in “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back,” or perhaps a different time in the canon.

iOS 7 hands-on videos leak out onto the Web

The developer beta of iOS 7 has only been out for a few hours, and there’s already a slew of videos of it hitting the Web. The software, like other betas from Apple, is bound by a strict nondisclosure agreement that requires developers not to share it with others.
