Afghanistan asked India to bat first on the pitch used minutes ago for the Australia-Ireland game. That meant they passed up the opportunity to use whatever assistance the pitch might have provided after the wear and tear from being used for three innings.
As expected, India went in with just four bowlers, and L Balaji kept his place as the third seamer ahead of Ashok Dinda. The batting line-up wore the familiar look, with Manoj Tiwary missing out.
