
‘End Of Watch’ And ‘House’ Tie For First During Another Slow Box Office
Box-office estimates put “End of Watch” and “House at the End of the Street” tied for first place over the weekend, with “Trouble With the Curve” not far behind. However, even with four new films in theaters, cinemas were still hurting.
Cop drama “End of Watch” and Jennifer Lawrence’s horror flick “House at the End of the Street” debuted with about $13 million apiece, while Clint Eastwood’s “Trouble with the Curve” was just behind with an estimated $12.7 million. Gross receipts were down 25 percent versus the same period last year, continuing the trend from the past few weekends.
