‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Taps Screenwriter

Christian Grey isn’t the only one drafting up contracts.
Universal Pictures and Focus Features announced Monday (October 8) that producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti have tapped “Terra Nova” scribe Kelly Marcel to pen the big-screen adaptation of E L James’ best-selling erotic novel “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
“Kelly’s work demonstrates her flawless structural technique and passionate commitment to emotion, humor and depth of character which is particularly visible in the celebrated screenplay for the upcoming ‘Saving Mr. Banks,’ ” De Luca said in a statement.
