‘Hobbit: Unexpected Journey’ Will Have An Extended Cut For Video Release

“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” might be hitting theaters on December 14, but don’t think that’s all there is to see of the first part of Bilbo Baggins’ adventure.
Warner Bros. has announced as part of the studio’s 90th anniversary line-up that an extended edition of “An Unexpected Journey” will hit store shelves during the fourth quarter of 2013. Our guess is that the film will likely come out around the holiday season and will likely be tied in with the release of the second “The Hobbit” film, “The Desolation of Smaug.”

We have no idea how director Peter Jackson has any extra scenes…
