In fight to control floods, Haryana looks to Centre

Even AS the three proposed dams on the Upper Yamuna basin are yet to see the light of day, Haryana, an upper basin state, has suggested an umbrella organisation to oversee the proposed structures. It was after water released from the Hathnikund and Tajewala barrages in Haryana flooded Delhi that the need for upstream barrages was brought sharply back into focus.
