Toronto Film Festival Opens Oscar Season

We’ve seen the awards buzz swell in the past few weeks with Venice, Telluride, and now Toronto, so the folks over at Film.com have broken down the high-profile TIFF entries to see which has the greatest potential to score Oscar gold come February.
Chief among the candidates has to be Paul Thomas Anderson’s “The Master,” which is currently looking like a lock for Best Picture, Director, and Original Screenplay. Then you have to factor in Philip Seymour Hoffman, Joaquin Phoenix, and Amy Adams, who have all received acclaims for their work.
